A Fantastic Assembly and Electric Umbrella Excitement

This week in Nursery, we were busy practising for our assembly which we performed on Friday. A huge thank you to everyone who came to support us. The children showed great confidence standing up in front of a large audience, and they truly shone. We could not be prouder of how well they performed and spoke so clearly.

Our new story this week was The Gingerbread Man. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to the story, joining in with the repeated phrases, and retelling the events using their own words and actions. It was lovely to see their enthusiasm as they acted out different parts of the story together.

We explored lots of creative activities linked to our story. The children made their own gingerbread men using playdough, carefully shaping and decorating them with different features. They also created beautiful collage gingerbread men using a variety of materials and enjoyed painting their own colourful gingerbread characters.

In RE, we have been learning that the parish church is a special place where people gather together to pray and celebrate. The children enjoyed talking about churches and exploring what makes them special. To support our learning, we created our own churches using junk modelling materials and also worked together in the construction area to build churches of our own.

We also had a fantastic time taking part in the Electric Umbrella assembly. The children thoroughly enjoyed all of the singing, dancing and interactive activities, and there were so many smiles and excited faces throughout. Thank you to the Electric Umbrella team for bringing so much energy, fun and joy to our school and for giving us such a memorable experience.

We were also very excited to spend time with the Year 6 children after they had finished their SATs. The Nursery children loved playing alongside the older children both indoors and outside, and it was wonderful to see such kind, caring and positive interactions between them all. The Year 6 children were fantastic role models, and everyone had a lovely time together.
