Small Steps, Big Change - Our Partnership with Global Dignity

St Alban & St Stephen have recently partnered with Global Dignity, an organisation dedicated to uniting people in the belief that everyone deserves to live a life of dignity. Their mission to uphold the inherent value of every individual mirrors our Catholic Social Teaching last half-term on the Dignity of the Human Person, reminding us that everyone is created in the image and likeness of God.
To launch this collaboration, Global Dignity delivered inspiring workshops for our staff and pupils in Year 4 and Year 5. Following these sessions, pupils channelled their creativity into posters and reflected on how they can "be the change we want to see in the world." We were especially moved during a recent assembly where Year 5 pupils shared their own "Dignity Stories," highlighting the power of respect in action. One pupil said, 'Dignity is holding yourself up and being exactly the person that you are and that you are meant to be even when that is hard to do.'
Working with Global Dignity will also support us to follow up on our Jubilee theme 'Pilgrims of Hope' as we develop practical actions that turn small steps into big changes. We look forward to building this momentum with events like Green Day, Refugee Awareness Week and International Festival Day as we head toward a school-wide celebration for Global Dignity Day this October.
