Year 4 Crowing Mary and Visit to St Albans Cathedral
On Friday 1st May, Year 4 went on an exciting visit to St Albans Cathedral. They learnt about life in a monastery and some of the jobs carried out by the monks who lived there. They dressed up as monks and created beautiful illuminated letters. They also learnt about how the Cathedral was first built to remember Saint Alban and how it has changed over the years.
The children in Year 4 also led a special 'Marian' celebration as May is the month when Catholic people think about Mary. The children acted out Bible stories about Mary, sang, said prayers and danced. Every child spoke clearly and with confidence.
The beautiful flowers that the children brought in to school were shared at the end of the school day with people who are unwell, lonely or just in need of cheering up.
