Year 5 Boys' Fantastic Football Success
Well done to our fantastic Year 5 Boys' Team and a huge thank you to Mr W for accompanying the team to the tournament.

On Saturday 9th May the Year 5 Boys' Football team played a very important 6s tournament (having qualified for it earlier in the week) held at St Columbus which the team were desperate to win.
The team played brilliantly in the group stage, winning all 5 games with clean sheets due to strong defence and goalkeeping with excellent link up play. Goals coming from H, K, M & J in the group stage meant the team qualified top of the group with 15 points which we were all delighted with and set up the semi final match against Bowmansgreen.
The team continued to play with confidence dominating the whole game with goals from H & M to win the semi final 2-0 securing their place in the final against Aboyne Lodge.
Ahead of the final, our adrenaline was pumping as we knew there was just one more game we needed to win to be crowned champions. We fought hard until the end creating a few chances, but unfortunately Aboyne Lodge were able to score their one shot on goal with just two minutes to go. When it finished we were all devastated knowing we had played so well but it just wasn’t to be.
In the end we were delighted to get second place and were presented with a runners' up trophy as well as our own individual trophies which we proudly all took home.
