At St Alban & St Stephen, we use our Sports Premium funding carefully to make sure it has a lasting and sustainable impact on pupils’ health, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity. Each year, we complete a Sports Premium Plan capturing our key achievements to date and identifying areas for future development linked to five key indicators:
- Key indicator 1: The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity
- Key indicator 2: The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
- Key indicator 3: Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
- Key indicator 4: Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
- Key indicator 5: Increased participation in competitive sport
Our main priorities in 2025-26 are:
-
Specialist sports coaching before and after school to give pupils more opportunities to take part in a wide range of sports.
-
Staff training (CPD) to improve the quality of PE teaching and ensure strong provision continues long term.
-
Sports mentoring for our most vulnerable pupils to build confidence, resilience and positive attitudes through physical activity.
-
High-quality equipment and resources to promote an active lifestyle across the school day.
